Amazon Burns A New Trail With Kindle Fire

There has been a lot of recent talk about Amazon’s new Kindle Fire. No doubt the debut has created a great buzz And to be sure Kindle and Kindle Fire isn’t just the only thing that is happening here. Amazon has really out done itself here.

Though major competitors like the iPad, Barnes and Noble’s Nook, and other tablets, the Kindle Fire takes things a step further by offering consumers more content (through its vast library of Apps, movies, music), fast browsing, and of course, a lot cheaper cost. The cost factor is huge for many. But are their any downsides?

Amazon.com's new Kindle Fire really heats up the market place! According to a survey from PriceGrabber, four out of every time consumers would rather get a tablet than a laptop. A survey of over 3,500 Americans, stated that they would rather have a tablet because they are easy to carry, lightweight, and touchscreens.

Does the Kindle Fire Has Unlimited Potential? It just might...

What’s The Skinny on Amazon’s "Kindle Fire"?

Amazon.com had just released its latest update to the popular kindle which can pretty much do everything that the iPad can do, but at $200, it is half the costs.

This market is exploding in just the first year. In less than two years the tablet market is over $30 billion (and counting). With such an infant market and with Apple having about 80% of the pie at the moment, Amazon sees this as an opportunity to go head to head, by offering more bells and whistles without the cost.

How is it able to do this?

Answer: The "Cloud" and crazy amounts of content it can provide:

The Cloud: With computing memory space now existing “in the cloud” (a term to indicate that the memory space is used by off site servers and not dependent on how much memory space your computer has. Think of it in terms of your email at Google or Hotmail. The size of your computer memory doesn’t depend your ability to access your email. You have can a million emails and its stored at Google’s cloud servers.) With the cloud taking most of the memory, you can have smaller, faster, and more mobile devices that can also stream video, music, and books.

Amazon has tons of content. With millions of e-books and streaming video and music, Amazon can offer content easily and cheaper, than many of its other competitors. It's massive library and easy to access gate, the Kindle is sure to be a hit.

Certainly there is a income gap connection here too.

Money talks....Amazon released its powerful and attractive Kindle Fire to reach consumers that may not have enough money to buy the iPad, which is about $500. Kindle Fire and the Kindle are certainly great products and a lot cheaper too. The focus is on the “Non-premium,” prices as Jeff Bezos, Amazon.com’s CEO recently stated.

Any Downside to the Kindle and Kindle Fire?

Though it is powerful, it doesn’t have some of the same things you would expect from other computing devices. It doesn’t have a camera and it doesn’t allow you to use your cell phone (it doesn’t have cellular capabilities). It will however, let you browse the internet through wireless communication.

No camera - you can snap a piciture of yourself reading

Not a phone - the Kindle Fire doesn't have cellular capabilities

Other Basic Notes:

Approximate size: 7.5 inches.

Cost: About $200

Speed: Fast, cloud-dependent

Battery Life: 7.5 hours for video playback.

NEW Smart Browswer: The Kindle Fire uses Amazon Silk, Amazon.com's web browser.Amazon's smart browser which used in the cloud. (For more information, see the video below.)

I plan to get the Kindle Fire on monday the 28th. After so much research, I knocked out the black berry playbook and the Ipad and chose The Kindle Fire. It was sure a hassle alright!

I enjoyed reading your hub. Like you, I'm fascinated by the Kindle Fire, and also wrote a preview. By now, I've had my Fire for about a week, and absolutely love it, but I've heard some people have had problems with theirs. What's your take? Is the Fire ready, or was it rushed?

Thanks for the comment. The Ipad isn't bad either. I have tried it out and I like the sleek design and the features. For me its on the pricey side... but I have a feeling that they will reduce their prices pretty soon

Good info.

It's a good move on the part of amazon, but really it speaks to how much Apple/Jobs has done to drive these markets. I'm not sure of the camera's or the cell advantages... So I think amazon is going about the right way

Who is creating content for 5" screens? The resolution of the iPad is 768x1024 I believe. In which case most websites are still pretty readable.

There is a pretty big movement online to create content that is compatible with small screens, but the average webmaster isn't doing it.

I believe the iPad's will just fall into a price point which will make the value of this devices as a general purpose web appliance too low.
